GETTING TO KNOW LAGUNA'S TALAY, HULUGAN AND HIDDEN FALLS


Laguna is known for its Pagsanjan falls but did you know that there are countless more falls that are equally or even more beautiful than the infamous Pagsanjan Falls? There are a lot of hidden falls that lies within the verdant Laguna that are now slowly been discovered by mountaineers and local governments to which the public and tourist instantly took interest. One of those newly discovered falls were the Talay Falls, Hidden Falls and the rising star, Hulugan Falls. These falls are close to each other that you could visit and see it all within just a day. These hidden gems are absolutely beautiful beyond measure that it couldn’t be kept untold so we are sharing it here today.

HOW TO GET TO HULUGAN FALLS, TALAY FALLS AND HIDDEN FALLS?


Via Private Vehicle:
To get there you just have to enter SLEX and exit to Calamba from there just follow the national highway to pagsanjan, once you reach the Pagsanjan church turn right then straight to Luisiana Laguna. From Sta. rosa laguna it will take a two hour drive to get to luisiana, from manila maybe it will take around 3 hours depending on the traffic.

Via Public Transportation:

  1. Go to the HM Transport Bus Terminal on EDSA corner New York Street, Cubao.
  2. Go to the Green Star Bus Terminal on Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue (Buendia) corner Taft Avenue.
  3. Go to the HM Liner Bus Terminal in Manuela Metropolis Alabang (Metropolis Mall).
  4. Ride an HM Transport/Green Star bus to Sta. Cruz, and get off at Pagsanjan/Jam bus terminal in Barangay Pagsawitan, Pagsanjan, Laguna. The ride takes about 2.5 hours.
  5. To go to Pagsanjan, Lumban, Paete, Siniloan, or Caliraya, you can either:
  • Ride a jeep to Pagsanjan, Lumban, Paete, Siniloan, or Caliraya, and get off at your destination. The ride takes about 20-30 minutes.
  • Ride a tricycle to your San Salvador Brgy Hall or just tell the driver to bring you to the Hulugan Falls jump-off point.


Tip:  if you have a big group it will be much more convenient to hire a private vehicle, it will be cheaper.

HULUGAN FALLS FEES :

Registration/Tourism Fee: 10 php (pay at the Brgy. Hall)
Tour Guide Fee: No fixed rate. It depends on you.

BUDGET BREAKDOWN (GROUP OF 3)

Diesel: 100 php/head (sta.rosa-san Salvador (vice versa )
Admission/Tourism Fee: 10 php/head
Tour guide fee: no fixed rate (we paid 300 php for a group of 3 since the trail was pretty easy)

Total Budget: 220 php/head

But, if you do not have a car, here’s an option for you:
OPTION 2: (via public transportation)

Bus fare: 140 php/head - (from Gil Puyat/Taft Ave to Sta. Cruz)
Jeepney fare: 25 php/head - (from Sta. Cruz to Brgy. San Salvador)
Total round trip fare: 330 php/head
Admission/Tourism Fee: 10 php/head
Tour guide fee: no fixed rate (300-1000 php)

Total Budget: 440 php/head
