26th at Balay DakoTuesday, August 02, 2016
Every time people asks me about my age, they would always give me an unbelievable look if I would tell them the truth. Most of the time, my mind is debating whether its a compliment or not. Whenever I let them guess my age, they'd confidently say I'm 20-22 yrs old, but believe it or not, I am already 26 years old. Whatever happened to puberty, I have no idea. I guess that's the advantage of having an Asian blood, we don't usually look like our age and that of course is one of the things I am thankful for.
Anyway, I am here to share my very simple celebration on my 26th birthday. It wasn't extravagant, no elaborate cakes to blow, nor gifts to open but it was something special. As a newly grad and a newbie to the corporate world, it has always been in my list to bring and treat my entire family to a descent restaurant at least on my birthday using my own earnings. So few weeks ago, I decided to bring them to the newly opened, Balay-Dako Restaurant which serves authentic Filipino cuisine in Tagaytay owned the Antonio's. It was a little pricey but that doesn't matter when it comes to family. We give it all right? Plus, it was my birthday after all. We had a sumptuous lunch and enjoyed the overlooking view of Taal Volcano afterwards. It was a short day and a very simple celebration that I will always be grateful for.
But the celebration doesn't end there, a week after, I went back to Tagaytay and bond with few of my friends. We went to the usual places since they haven't been there yet. We enjoyed few tourist spots, went to an amusement park and enjoyed some pizza by night. It was a great time and a delightful celebration of my birthday together with my Family and close friends. Thank you to the Father above who gave me another year to celebrate.
